German Energy Day 2026

We’re happy to invite you to Düsseldorf on 23 April 2026 for the German Energy Day.

Register for German Energy Day 2026

What is German Energy Day?

German Energy Day provides in-depth insight into the most critical developments shaping the German energy market. The event brings together expert presentations, timely discussions, and opportunities to ask key questions about Germany’s evolving energy landscape.

Following the full-day conference, we invite you to join our traditional dinner cruise aboard the MS Riverstar, an opportunity to relax, enjoy the evening, and connect with fellow industry peers.

You will hear about:

Session 1: Power market dynamics
Kick off the day with a deep dive into Germany’s evolving power market. From changing fundamentals in 2025/26 to the growing influence of geopolitics on gas and LNG flows, this session explores the key forces shaping prices and security of supply.

Session 2: Flexibility – batteries, data centres and AI
This session focuses on the new demand and flexibility forces reshaping German power markets. The battery story is front and centre, moving from growth projections to real deployment realities, and culminating in a panel discussion on whether Germany is keeping pace in the European battery race.

Session 3: Market design, hedging & industry competitiveness
A forward-looking session on the policy and commercial frameworks shaping German competitiveness. Topics include what’s next in market design, how hedging strategies and long-term contracting are evolving, and how to capture opportunities with short-term renewable PPAs while managing price volatility.

Session 4: Carbon markets & industrial strategy
Carbon markets are under growing scrutiny as prices, policy changes, and political pressure reshape the EU ETS landscape. This session explores the market implications of these developments and what they mean for power and industrial players. The closing panel brings the debate into sharp focus: how should industry respond, by hedging, staying exposed, or relocating, and what does this mean for Germany’s long-term competitiveness?

Networking reception and dinner cruise

The day concludes with a networking reception, followed by our traditional dinner cruise aboard the MS Riverstar. This relaxed and informal setting offers the perfect opportunity to continue conversations and exchange ideas from the day’s discussions.
