Co-Located BESS: Unlocking the Value of Renewable Energy and Battery Storage

Placing batteries alongside wind and solar farms lets owners store power when prices are low and sell it when demand and prices rise.

Register for Co-Located BESS: Unlocking the Value of Renewable Energy and Battery Storage

As wind and solar generation grows, renewable asset owners face increasing price volatility, more frequent negative prices and pressure on capture rates. Co-locating battery energy storage systems (BESS) with renewable assets can offer greater flexibility and new ways to manage market exposure.

Webinar overview

In this webinar, Marc Hasenbeck, Asset Valuation Expert, and Alexander Fleck, Quant Developer, will explore how co-located batteries can affect the economics of wind and solar assets. Using practical examples and a live demonstration of Montel Value, they will show how to evaluate co-located BESS, assess potential revenue impacts and understand their contribution to overall portfolio value and risk.

The session will cover:

  • Opportunities and challenges of co-locating batteries with renewable assets

  • How storage can affect renewable revenues and capture prices

  • Evaluating the economics of combining BESS with wind and solar

  • Assessing the impact of co-located BESS on portfolio value and risk

  • Practical examples using Montel Value

The webinar is designed for renewable asset owners, project developers, energy traders, portfolio managers, utilities and investors interested in battery storage and renewable energy optimisation.

Join us to learn how co-located BESS can support renewable asset valuation and portfolio decision-making, and how Montel Value can be used for asset valuation, revenue forecasting and portfolio risk analysis.
