Who are you and what does your company do?

My name is Sylvia Kabisch, and I work as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Montana, one of Germany’s largest private energy suppliers. We manage procurement and portfolio management for household and business customers across all relevant market areas, including power, gas, guarantees of origin, and biomethane.

Our six-person team is responsible for the full process: from trading and initiating new trading partner relationships, to balancing group management, implementing regulatory requirements, and internal reporting.

What challenges did Montana face before using Montel?

How does Montel support your work in practice?

Montel has become one of our daily working tools. We use almost all functionalities: current prices, charting, Excel export, API access, and historical data for analysis. Montel is also a fixed part of our weekly team morning calls, especially for identifying and presenting current energy market trends.

What sets Montel apart from other providers?

For me, it’s clearly the focus on the energy market and the breadth of European reporting. Whether electricity, gas, coal, oil, or sustainability topics, Montel covers everything on a single platform. On top of that, the usability is excellent. I’ve found many other platforms to be either too technical or too complex. Montel, on the other hand, is clear, intuitive, and easy to use in day-to-day operations.

What is my experience with customer service?

Very positive. We have a dedicated contact person who stays in regular communication and responds quickly to questions, whether they’re about test access or new products. I feel that we’re well supported.

I also view Montel’s development very positively. The platform is growing, integrating new know-how, and constantly expanding its offering, something I notice in both the quality and scope of the content.
